The program was a public library, 28 apartments, parking spaces and retail surfaces.

The master plan is by OMA, and the site is triangular with just a narrow façade on the main place of Almere.

The project takes advantage of the triangular shapes in order to introduce perspectives that run through the whole building. Their sharp angles plus "natural elements” that were added such as a pool and a meadow (the Nederland) connect and mix the different parts of the program.

Therefore this hybrid building makes up a whole. However it has no frontal facades : the wedges that are driven into it increase their length but play down the expression of the limits on the public space.

In its ambiguous setting, the presence of the building is at the same time strong and elusive.
