The site constitutes the last remaining space on the densely built up area within the university grounds.
The building is dedicated to the teaching of geography. The programme includes lecture halls and classrooms situated both on the ground floor, plus offices for the teachers and researchers on the upper floors.

The building is set on the limit of the site so as to spare a central area that will be landscaped.
The architecture was conceived to allow the place to breathe. Its forms are unimposing and the exterior materials soften its presence. Its rounded contours do not hinder the views and avoid establishing a hierarchy between the front and rear, between the main facade and the smaller sides. Space turns around the building.
The facades do not have a definitive character however as their surface changes. They are dual layered : on the outside an opalescent glass skin, and on the inside, recessed by some 15 cm a reflective stainless steel sheet. They combine their effects. This dual system is driven by the changes of the sky and the very movement of the observer
Thus the regular repetitive pattern, typical of office buildings is softened.
