The building, intended for medical education, includes two amphitheaters with 500 seats each, classrooms, a library, offices, and student facilities. The site, on the edge of the town of La Riche, borders a motorway and a railway line.
The building, placed in a site whose urbanisation is uncertain, provides the neighborhood with a clearly defined public space that brings urbanity to the place.
It stands firmly on the corner of two streets, and the curves of its north-eastern façade define a good-sized square that signals the public dimension of the facility and marks the city with a simple and identifiable form.
This façade, animated by curved movements and planted with trees, is set back 6m from the alignment. This arrangement allows the street to be well lit and limits the shadow cast by this imposing construction on the neighboring housing estate.
Thanks to its compactness, the building provides a vast planted and enclosed space to the south. The hall of the equipment runs along this large lawn and gives access to it.
The classrooms and library are located on the upper floors. Like the amphitheaters, they benefit from the view on the landscape while being protected by sunshades.
